We will offer here walks and hikes, accessible to all and does not require specific materials.
Given the number of courses that exist in Corsica, we have chosen to present only those located less than 20 km from Villa Serena!
The ridges of Ajaccio
Distance from the Villa Serena: 8.7 km
The departure takes place at the level of the English Wood Road, in the so-called "Foreigners" district of Ajaccio. This trail, without major difficulty, follows the coastline to the reliefs of the Islands Bloodthirsty. It overlooks the gulf, offering superb views on the sea, and all in absolute calm. You can discover the "Death Head" herds and all kinds of botanical species typical of here: myrtles, arbousiers, cork oak, etc.

Bocca di l'Arinella
Distance from Villa Serena: 9.4 km

The departure takes place in the parking lot of the Castelluccio Psychiatric Hospital Centre. After less than 20 minutes of walking, we're already at Lisa's dam. Its reservoir is home to a remarkable fauna and flora! The trail will also offer a magnificent view of the Gulf of Ajaccio, the Genoese towers of Isolella and Capo di Murui and the peaks of Punta Ignascu and Monte Gozzi.
Monte Gozzi
Distance from Villa Serena: 10.2 km

- Summit: 695 m
- Vertical: 429m
- Duration: About 2:40 a.m.
The departure is from the chapel of the village of Appietto. The first 400 meters are in height, but we must not be discouraged: once past this course it is the dish that will dominate. And after this effort, you won't be disappointed: this walk offers a magnificent view of Ajaccio Bay and the Gulf of Lava. The redescent will be by the same path.
Our little boy did this hike (or walk according to the level of each …) at the age of 3 years … well it's true we wore it a little 😉!
Rock of Gozzi and Punta Pastinaca
Distance from Villa Serena: 10.2 km
- Length: 6.8 km
- Rock Summit Gozzi: 716 m
- Punta Summit Pastinaca: 814m
- Vertical: 440m
- Duration: About 3 hours
The departure is from the chapel of the village of Appietto. This hike leads to the Rock of the Gozzi, red granite, at the top of which an exceptional view is offered over the Gulf of Lava, then Ajaccio's.
The Tower of Frassu
Distance from Villa Serena: 14 km
- Length: 4.6 km
- Summit: 350 m
- Vertical: 242m
- Duration: About 2 hours
The departure is at the Porticcio cemetery, above the Terra Bella residence. This hike takes place in the scrub to the Tower of Frassu, a building architectural pisan style novel. It offers a beautiful view of the gulf Porticcio and the Capitello Tower.
The Cuttoli-Corticchiato Heritage Trail
Distance from Villa Serena: 15.2 Miles
- Length: 2.4 km
- Summit: 582 m
- Vertical: 183m
- Duration: About 1:10 a.m.
The starting point of the trail hike is done on the Corticchiato side, at the intersection that leads to the church road on one side, and the village of Peri on the other. Entry is reported in the centre of the hamlet, below the church.
The first part of the itinerary was a mule track which, from Foci di San Ghjorghju, led to a Foci di Vizzavona.
A nice walk to discover old mills filled with history…
We also made this journey with our little boy when he was 3 years old but this time we wore it a lot!!
Bomba Trail in Villanova
Distance from the Villa Serena: 17 km
The departure takes place in the place of the pretty village of Villanova. This easy little hike offers beautiful views of the Gulf of Lava. At the end of the journey, you have to follow the path by entering a farm (breeding).
Most of these trails are only partially shaded, so consider taking sunscreens and caps in your backpack and most importantly… lots of water!
